You’re invited to help choose a new name for the park in Owen Sound previously known as Ryerson Park in Owen Sound.
The city has opened an online survey allow residents to rank their preferred choices among a list of 25 potential new names for the park located near the bottom of the 8th Street East hill.
“Council previously directed that priority be given to names with a locational reference,” the city says in a release. “All submissions received during Phase 1 were reviewed, and 25 names that best met the criteria outlined in the city’s naming and re-naming policy for city parks and facilities have been short-listed for public voting.”
The online survey is open until August 28.
“Once public engagement is complete, the top scoring names will be presented to community services committee with a final recommendation to be considered by council,” a statement from city hall explains.
