Owen Sound police seized a significant quantity of illicit drugs and cash while carrying out a search warrant on Canada Day.
On July 1st, the police service’s Criminal Investigations Branch carried out the search at a residence in the 900 block of 2nd Avenue East, after a uniformed officer had seen a large quantity of drugs in an apartment while attending a call to remove an unwanted person.
In the search, police seized 214 grams of fentanyl, 112 grams of cocaine, 52 grams of crystal methamphetamine, and approximately $1,200 in cash.
The estimated street value of the drugs is around $110,000, and police say that the 214 grams of fentanyl equates to roughly 2,140 individual sales.
Nobody has been charged, but police expect that charges will be laid in relation to the investigation in the future.
