The Ontario Provincial Police is increasing enforcement efforts over the Easter long weekend, with a focus on seatbelt safety.
From April 3 to April 6, officers will be actively patrolling local roadways to promote public awareness and ensure motorists are properly buckled up while travelling.
Police say the initiative is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety and reduce preventable injuries.
During last year’s Easter enforcement campaign, held from April 18 to April 21, 2025, OPP officers in West Region issued 338 seatbelt-related charges.
The OPP is reminding drivers to make safe choices behind the wheel and encouraging passengers to speak up if they observe unsafe driving behaviour.
