A shelter-in-place advisory issued over the weekend in Sauble Falls has been lifted after police say a potentially dangerous situation was safely resolved.
Members of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a reported disturbance on Rankin Bridge Road around 5:30 p.m. Saturday involving an individual who was believed to be armed.
As a precaution, residents in the immediate area were advised to remain indoors while officers responded and investigated the situation.
Police later determined the incident had stabilized and there was no ongoing threat to public safety. The shelter-in-place advisory was lifted shortly before midnight.
Officers say the suspect turned themselves in Sunday morning and was taken into custody without incident. No injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Police are thanking residents for their patience and cooperation during the advisory.
