Brightshores Health System has completed its most extensive engagement initiative to date, gathering input from patients, families, staff, physicians, volunteers, partners and community members across Grey-Bruce.
The Stronger. Together. initiative ran over three months and included 38 in-person sessions across local communities and hospital sites, along with virtual discussions and surveys. More than 400 people participated in person, over 700 surveys were completed, and more than 3,500 comments, stories and suggestions were collected.
Board Chair Deborah Pope says Brightshores is widely viewed as compassionate and deeply connected to the communities it serves, with participants sharing thoughtful ideas about strengthening care for the future.
Feedback consistently highlighted pride in the dedication of healthcare professionals, while also pointing to concerns about staffing shortages, rising demand and pressures on hospital resources. Participants offered suggestions to improve access, reduce wait times, modernize technology and infrastructure, and enhance coordination across the system.
President and CEO Ann Ford says the insights will help guide Brightshores’ strategic planning over the next six months as the organization works to strengthen care delivery and support healthcare teams across the region.
