Compass Greenfield Development wants to develop a 25 MWac agrivoltaics project on a new parcel of land on Blind Line and Allenford Road. The 60 acre solar farm area would connect to existing Hydro One infrastructure on Highway 21. It will not include a battery energy storage system (BESS).
The company says it will support agricultural activities and solar energy.

At the September 2nd meeting, the Town noted the land is designated rural land in the Town’s Official Plan — not agricultural.
A previous community meeting was held on July 31st at the Allenford Community Centre. The company says about 15 community members went.
