The West Grey Fire Service has issued a fire ban on all outdoor and open-air burning in response to the hot and dry weather we’ve been seeing.
All active burn permits are suspended, and no new permits will be issued until the ban has been lifted.
Campfires are allowed as long as they are contained in a pit, tire rim, or other approved firewood-burning device.
Barbecues and similar cooking appliances are also permitted, but the West Grey Fire Service does advised everyone to stay vigilant and exercise caution at all times.
The ban will remain in effect until further notice.
