The annual traditional Neyaashiinigmiing Pow Wow is celebrating 40 years this weekend.
The Pow Wow is being held at Cape Croker Park from Aug. 15 to the 17 where attendees can experience Indigenous culture and community.
The festivities will begin Friday evening with musical performances.
On the Saturday, grand entry will open at noon, but people can arrive for the early opening at 10 a.m.
The day will feature inter-tribal dancing, exhibitions, music, as well as a feast that evening at the Community Centre, shuttle buses will be available.
The final day will continue with more dancing, raffling art, and a Traveling song.
The Pow Wow is open to all and the Chippewas of Nawash Unceded First Nation requests attendees be respectful, familiarize themselves with Pow Wow etiquette, support local artisans, for attendees to bring their own lawn chair, and no pets except service dogs.
Additionally no drugs or alcohol will be allowed on Pow Wow grounds.
There will also be a teaching tent for first time attendees from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
There is a $5 entry fee for attendees ages five to 55.
