Dog owners from across Canada and the United States have taken over Harrison Park for the annual dog show.
The event by the Grey Bruce Kennel and Obedience Club kicked off Tuesday and runs until Thursday.
Show Chair Person Suzanne Anest says they have over 200 people taking part each day of the event.
“Judges are here from across Canada judging dogs from across Canada and the United States and some are competing towards their Canadian Championship, some have already earned their Canadian Championship and they are gong on further as in rankings and their breed, may be number one across Canada, top dog in Canada,” says Anest.
The dogs taking part in the show are being judged on the breed standards, be they working, herding or sporting dogs, which will eventually move on to compete for best in show.

Anest encourages people to come to Harrison Park to watch the event.
“We have a lot of spectators down. I think it is a great opportunity for the public to come down and see some fantastic dogs. You get an opportunity to speak to the people handling the dogs for the owners. It’s great for all ages and the exhibitors love the show, they love the park,” says Anest.
The popular event has been held in Owen Sound for over 40 years, and this year marks 50 for the Grey Bruce Kennel and Obedience Club.
In addition to the competition, the club is also holding a silent auction and raffle, which Anest says will go to support the organization.
