Bayshore Broadcasting is expanding its coverage of the Owen Sound Attack games this upcoming season.
During the launch of 89.3 the new CFOS FM on Friday, Bayshore Broadcasting announced it will be broadcasting both home and away games.
Manager of Marketing & Communications for the Owen Sound Attack Greg Hoddinott says, “With the changes coming to CFOS moving to FM, and all those things, are very positive for us. Our fans are going to get to hear the games in a wider radius, which is really important to us, because we do draw from probably one of the biggest radiuses in the Ontario Hockey League. We have a very strong fan base an hour to an hour and a half away from us.”
Hoddinott hopes the expanded coverage will encourage people to come watch the Attack play games on the ice.
“It is just providing that radius, that bigger catchment area for people to get excited about the team when they can’t be in the building with us,” says Hoddinott. “Radio is the way to get to the people in this market, so I think that is the important part and it will bring our fans to the building more.”
Bayshore Broadcasting General Manager Peter McKeown says this expansion will also include several special features including a 30-minute post game show and broadcasting the Tim Bits intermission hockey games.
“Partnerships are important in our business and there is none bigger than the one we have with the Owen Sound Attack. Many of our clients are our clients and we are all in with Owen Sound, all in with Grey Bruce and certainly all in with the Owen Sound Attack,” says McKeown. “The Attack are putting a great product on the ice, and we are gong to put a great broadcast on the air with Matt Hermiz and many special guests.”
The Attack begins its pre-season on Aug. 31 at North Bay, with the regular season getting underway Sept. 27 with the Attack hosting Kitchener.
