The Tom Thomson Art Gallery is launching a juried art exhibition celebrating the neurodivergent community.
The Creative Pathways: Celebrating the Neurodivergent Community exhibition is in partnership with the Reach Centre Grey Bruce and Georgian Bay School of the Arts and is set to run from Sept. 21 to Jan. 4.
Local artists who self-identify as neurodivergent are invited to submit up to five pieces of artwork to be showcased at the exhibition at The TOM.
The central theme for this exhibition is community, which aims to unite artists, as well as break down barriers, challenge stereotypes, and highlight local talent.
Director and Chief Curator Aidan Ware says, “at its heart, this project celebrates our community through creative expression, partnership and learning. Art crosses all value systems, cultures, ages, places, and abilities; it is for, and a part of, all people. I think that this exhibition will be a wonderful testament to that deep capacity art has for truly connecting us as human beings.”
The deadline for artists to submit their work is July 15 at 5 p.m.
