Walkerton court staff say Tyler James Geiger has been convicted of manslaughter and trafficking a substance following a homicide investigation in 2019.
West Grey Police say in a release, on April 19, 2019, members of their Criminal Investigations Bureau initiated a homicide investigation following a sudden death in Neustadt.
Police say as a result of the investigation, 37-year-old Geiger was arrested and charged on Sept. 19, 2019 with manslaughter and trafficking a substance.
On Feb. 6, Geiger was convicted on both charges in the Ontario Superior Courts of Justice in Walkerton.
Court staff confirm Geiger will be returning to court on April 21 at 11:30 a.m. for sentencing.
Police say Geiger remains in custody on unrelated charges.
