The city of Owen Sound has declared a Significant Weather Event that will remain in effect until further notice.
The city says in a media release that this does not mean there would be a reduced level of forecasted conditions, but rather to notify the public that due to current and forecasted conditions, caution should be observed while travelling.
They also say it may take longer than usual to bring the roads back to optimal conditions.
At this time, the city of Owen Sound is advising only essential travel at this time.
Owen Sound has Public Works staff working 24/7 on three shifts throughout the winter to ensure public safety.
