The Grey Bruce Health Unit is going to be holding a vaccination clinic for first or second doses of the Novavax Covid vaccine.
The clinic will be open on May 20 and provide doses of the protein-based, non-mRNA vaccine at the Grey Bruce Health Unit building from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. No walk-in appointments will be available.
The health unit says the Novavax can be an option for people who are unable or unwilling to receive an mRNA vaccine, including those with allergies which prevents them from being vaccinated.
The health unit adds holding these clinics are part of their ongoing effort to support people in getting and remaining up to date on potentially life-saving vaccines.
The health unit is choosing to host a vaccine clinic in response to the number of people who have contacted the GBHU to be placed on a waiting list to receive the Novavax.
People who would like to be added to the waiting list for the May 20 clinic can call public health at 519-376-9420.
