The Leaf and Yard Waste Depot in Meaford is reopening to residents today.
With reaching a critical threshold in cases in Grey Bruce last week, the Leaf and Yard Waste Depot, which was scheduled for April 16th was put on hold to encourage residents to stay home and avoid essential travel, according to the Municipality of Meaford in a release.
Now set to open on April 23rd at noon with Covid measures in place, this free service located at 157859 7th Line will be open Fridays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Be advised the items that can be dropped off include leaves, grass, weeds, sawdust, wood chips, plants, small shrubs, and brush and branches up to six inches in diameter.
To limit the spread of Covid, these measures have been put in place:

-stay in your vehicles at all times except when dumping leaf and yard waste material
-masks are mandatory
The municipality notes in a release, mulch and compost from the Leaf and Yard Waste Depot is available and free of charge for residents to limit contact and cash handling. This will be looked at once the provincewide stay-at-home order is over.
