Provincial Police say the driver who fled the scene of a recent collision near Colpoy’s Bay that left a cyclist with serious injuries has been identified and charged.
Grey Bruce OPP responded to the incident just after 9 p.m. on March 10 on Rouse Road, near Bruce Road 9, in South Bruce Peninsula.
According to police, a cyclist riding along Rouse Road was struck by a car, and the driver did not stop to offer help — fleeing the area.
The cyclist suffered injuries deemed serious but not life-threatening and had to be airlifted to hospital.
OPP say the driver involved in this incident has now been identified. A 53-year-old Wiarton man has been charged with fail to stop at accident causing bodily harm.
The accused has a court date in Owen Sound next month.
