The Federal government is investing 1.7 billion in a Universal Broadband Fund that will connect all Canadians to high-speed internet.
Today Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said good reliable internet isn’t a luxury, it’s a service.
“This fund will be used to build infrastructure across the country almost entirely in rural and remote communities,” said Trudeau.
Trudeau says today’s announcement reflects a real investment in Canadians success and their future economic livelihood.
Fast and reliable internet isn’t a luxury. It’s a basic service that everyone deserves to have access to – no matter where you live. That’s why we’re launching our Universal Broadband Fund today, and aiming to connect all Canadians to high-speed internet by 2030.
