The City of Owen Sound says they have partnered with Safe ‘n Sound to extend local emergency shelter services.
The city says with the current Covid restrictions, the typical city facilities used as warming stations during cold temperatures are not available for use at this time.
The Owen Sound and North Grey Union Public Library, however, is available for short-term warmth for up to half and hour from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. today.
Safe ‘n Sound will also be open from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. today, then again from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight at 310 8th Street East.
There are also emergency shelter services being provided by Grey County through YMCA Housing Services.
Residents looking for emergency shelter are encouraged to reach out to housing services at 519-371-9230.
For further assistance, residents can also call 211 for more warming centre information or to seek emergency shelter details.
